Situation

While most individuals may not dwell on the intricacies of surgical procedures, when the quality of instruments or implants becomes compromised the significance of RTI Surgicals becomes apparent. As medical professionals strive to provide optimal care, RTI Surgicals stands as a reliable partner, offering innovative solutions and a wealth of expertise in the field. RTI Surgicals has swiftly risen to prominence since its foundation in 1998, becoming a leading provider of surgical instruments, implants, and biological solutions worldwide. With expertise in allografts, xenografts, and synthetic-based implants, RTI serves partners across various industry segments, including dental, plastic and reconstructive surgery, sports medicine, spine, trauma, and urology/urogynecology, continually pushing the boundaries of medical innovation and ensuring that surgeons are equipped with the finest tools to transform the lives of their patients.

Struggles and Pains

Today, after multiple mergers, acquisitions, and exponential growth, RTI stands at the forefront of the manufacturing industry for safe tissue-based and synthetic-based implants, as well as custom-built surgical instruments. While this growth has positioned RTI as a market leader, it has also posed significant challenges for its IT and HR management teams. With eight office locations spread across several continents and a diverse workforce of over 500 employees in various market segments, managing the employee lifecycle has become increasingly complex. This has resulted in operational inefficiencies, increased the potential for inaccuracies, and raised the risk of data breaches when resource and access provisioning is delayed during employee terminations. Recognizing the need for automation and integration between the company’s HRIS ADP and AD (Active Directory), RTI’s sysadmin realized the importance of streamlining processes.

Resolution

RTI embarked on a search for an automation and integration solution, which led them to RoboMQ, a leading provider of API and data integration solutions. While RoboMQ specializes in creating custom integration solutions for enterprises, they already had a ready-to-use, no-code integration product specifically tailored for RTI Surgicals called Hire2Retire. RoboMQ assisted RTI in implementing Hire2Retire as an ADP to AD integration solution, enabling the organization to enjoy numerous benefits, including:

Improved operational efficiencies in all processes related to employee lifecycle management.

Simplified compliance with regulations through automation based on business rules for access and resource provisioning.

Reduced risk of errors and access breaches by enabling near real-time updates between HRIS and access provisioning systems.

Streamlined employee onboarding resulting in improved productivity and a positive 'first-day-at-work experience'.
