Hudson Headwaters Health Network enables better patient experience by building prompt & secure role-based access to patient data throughout its 21 nonprofit community health centers.
Surrounded by a magnificent wilderness landscape, the Adirondack North Country and Glens Falls region is a popular and scenic destination in Upstate NY. This region’s rich history and diverse landscape is home to close-knit rural communities that embody the efforts to uplift rural America.
With the same intent, Hudson Headwaters Healthcare Network started its operation 40 years ago in this region, aiming to provide the best healthcare to everyone in the community. Its community healthcare centers have a deep-rooted connection with the communities it serves. People treated their health centers as community institutions, by conducting bake sales, packing envelopes, and helping paint and decorate centers.
Since, Hudson Headwaters has extended its services to cover more than 7200 square miles of this medically underserved region with its network of 21 community centers for which it employs more than 850 healthcare workers and medical staff. Recognized as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), it adheres to the highest quality patient care service & compliance standards.

Hudson Headwaters required a tremendous effort behind the scenes to empower its healthcare staff. Maintaining fast and secure information sharing was critical to continuing to provide trusted care to its patient base.

Roadblocks in providing the best patient experience

The dedicated teams of medical practitioners’ care for more than 1200 patients every day across its community healthcare network. To accomplish its mission of providing the best & trusted patient care throughout the region, Hudson Headwaters required a tremendous effort behind the scenes to empower its healthcare staff. This included ensuring health care providers had timely access to patient information that would help in seamless communication with patients and care management teams.
It also required implementing strict role-based access control systems to eliminate any potential data security issues. Maintaining fast and secure information sharing was critical to continuing to provide trusted care to its patient base.
However, the existing manual process of employee onboarding and offboarding was a bottleneck in providing timely and accurate role-based access and rights to patient information. It created a security risk and a potential vulnerability to its ability to protect and safeguard patient data.

Prompt & secure role-based access to patient data

Hudson Headwaters implemented RoboMQ’s fully automated Employee Lifecycle Management and Identity Provisioning solution automating onboarding, offboarding and profile updates of employees across all its locations. This solution ensured timely and accurate role-based access to the patient data on a “need to know basis” eliminating security issues and helping Hudson Headwaters to stay compliant with the regulatory requirements.
RoboMQ’s ADP to AD Pre-Packaged Integration solution helped the organization in the following ways:
