Situation

Education in the modern age is a far cry from the classic caricature of chalk blackboards and heavy textbooks played out in old-timey movies. Especially after the COVID-19 pandemic forced schools to restart from the ground up, technology integration is now a bigger part of education than at any other point in history. Schools are constantly searching for efficient, cost-effective management solutions no matter where in the world they are. Bromcom Computers has been at the forefront of this technological revolution in the United Kingdom for over 35 years as the market leader in Management Information Systems (MIS) for Primary and Secondary schools. Bromcom was the first company in the UK to launch a cloud-based MIS in 2011 and currently serves over 1.5 million users with the goal of freeing school budgets to focus on improving student outcomes. 

Struggles and Pains

Despite being the definitive name in school management systems, Bromcom still struggled to efficiently manage over 160 employee profiles. Bromcom Sysadmins often fell behind on the manual task of onboarding new hires thus preventing the new employees from hitting the ground running on their first days of work. Similarly, the manual offboarding process lagged leaving Bromcom potentially exposed to cyber security risks if a terminated employee chose to go rouge. The company needed to speed up its onboarding processes, secure its data by efficiently removing access from terminated employees, and reduce the burden on its sysadmins to manually update and maintain every employee profile between BambooHR and Azure AD. These problems led Bromcom to look for an option that could address all their employee lifecycle management needs. 

Resolution

Bromcom’s search brought them to RoboMQ and led to the implementation of Hire2Retire as a fully automated employee lifecycle management and identity provisioning product.
