Situation

Whether it’s the pizza place around the corner or the local mom and pop shop, there’s an extra connection between family-owned companies and the communities they reside in. When Gage Allison Kent started Kent Corporation in 1927 to sell animal feed it easily fit that mold, but despite widespread success and expansion the company has remained in the Kent family’s control for nearly 100 years. Today Kent helps power America’s massive agriculture industry, manufacturing high quality animal feeds as well as food, beverage, and pet products. As the parent company of four other subsidiaries, Kent’s reach and scale makes them a market leader.

Struggles and Pains

While Kent Corporation’s subsidiary model helps divide up manufacturing responsibilities, the structure makes managing a workforce of over 2,000 employees in 40 different locations much more difficult. The company’s Sysadmins found themselves pouring resources into the tedious task of keeping employee profiles updated and accurate between UltiPro and Active Directory (AD). This lack of efficiency had ripple effects throughout the company; new hires were not quickly onboarded on their first days of work and terminated employees were still able to access company systems, potentially leaving Kent exposed to a data breach. Employee data could vary between subsidiaries, and the cost of managing it all manually began to add up. Kent’s product automation team needed to find a better solution.

Resolution

In RoboMQ, Kent found their solution by implementing Hire2Retire as a fully automated employee lifecycle management and identity provisioning product. Hire2Retire provided Kent with automated, end-to-end, no-code data integration between UKGPro and Hybrid AD, automatically syncing data between the two platforms upon an employee lifecycle event happening. Hire2Retire:

Efficiently onboarded new hires with the correct attributes, providing Kent with a superior “first day at work” experience.

Protected Kent from potential data breaches and security risks by automatically revoking system access from terminated employees.

Ensured employee profiles were consistent, accurate, and automatically updated.

Saved Kent Sysadmins time and investment, saving the company money.
