Across the United States, hundreds of benefactors’ associations allow communities of teachers, professionals, and other groups to organize in order to secure high-quality health care and ensure financial security. Association member benefits advisory (AMBA) is dedicated to helping such associations achieve their goals and provide for their members. They offer a variety of services such as benefit plan packages, marketing aid, and membership growth support.  

As an organization working diligently towards helping other organizations grow, AMBA needed to optimize its own business process. As their customer organizations grew in membership, AMBA was also expanding nationwide – employing local field agents and staff to provide consistent support. Because of this rapid expansion, they were looking for an uncomplicated way to sync their platforms and reduce the burden of tedious tasks on their small IT team.  

Struggles and Pains

Without a proper, automated system in place for managing role-based access control and allocation of resources, their IT team was struggling to handle employee lifecycle events with the manual process of assigning roles and attributes. 

With a limited number of sysadmins, AMBA’s small IT team was tasked with creating new employee profiles, providing access to resources, and allotting these new hires to the right groups manually. Along with new hire tasks, the IT team administered lifecycle events for the existing employees, adding to the overall workload. 

In the absence of easy automation between HRIS and AD, handling these processes becomes tedious, repetitive, and boring. Not just that, it is inefficient and expensive as system administrators must spend many hours working on this.
