Struggles and Pains

As Veregy continued to expand its offerings in making businesses more sustainable, it faced a unique set of challenges in keeping its in-house processes efficient. With a growing team and a wide range of services offered, managing employee accounts and access privileges became increasingly complex. The diverse roles within the organization, coupled with the geographical dispersion of office locations, made efficient collaboration a constant struggle for the system administrators. 

Additionally, being actively involved in projects with the Department of Energy (DoE) and other government entities meant that stringent compliance requirements had to be met. However, relying on manual interventions between the HRIS and IT systems, ADP and AD (Active Directory), proved to be inefficient and error prone. There was a pressing need for a streamlined and automated employee lifecycle management process that would ensure compliance with DoE regulations. 

One specific point of pain was the process of onboarding new employees. Although ADP assigned an AssociateID when an applicant was moved from “Applicant” to “Hired”, retrieving and synchronizing this ID with Active Directory proved to be a manual and time-consuming task. The lack of automation through the API presented challenges for seamless integration between HR and IT systems. 

Resolution
