Situation

As people go through their daily lives, they rarely stop to think about all the machines that help them operate more efficiently. It is only when those machines are not working properly that people take notice of them. As anyone who has worked in a large office building can attest to, elevators are among the most mundane but crucial machines. Few pay much attention to them when they work, but everyone remembers the Monday mornings when they had to take the stairs. Founded in 2020, American Elevator Group (AEG) is the fastest growing group of select and experienced elevator service providers in the United States. The group’s unique partnership system consists of regional, independent elevator companies that combine to share resources and technology and deliver local expertise and customer service to over 27,000 elevators in 21 states. 

Struggles and Pains

While AEG’s unique partner system provides customers with a national network of independent elevator service companies to choose from, it created challenges behind the scenes. AEG struggled to effectively keep up with over 1,200 employee accounts and profiles spread across their subsidiaries, sometimes falling behind to onboard and offboard employees because of the time and sysadmin or Active Directory (AD) admin resources the manual process required. AEG needed to ensure that their employee profiles were consistent and accurate, and that all employees were assigned the correct role-based access privileges (or security groups) and organization units. These struggles led AEG to search for a product that could automate this process.  

Resolution

AEG’s search brought them to RoboMQ and led to the implementation of Hire2Retire as a fully automated employee lifecycle management and identity provisioning product. Hire2Retire provided AEG with end-to-end, no-code data integration between Paycom HCM and Azure AD, allowing AEG to update and manage the employee identities in their system efficiently and consistently. In addition, Hire2Retire provided automatic role-based access control (RBAC), ensuring AEG employee profiles were placed in the correct security groups upon hiring and removed quickly and securely upon termination. This partnership saves AEG both time and money and keeps their employee lifecycle management operations running as smoothly as the elevators they service across the nation.
